HAR is deeply saddened to announce the passing of 2017 HAR Board member and longtime Baytown REALTOR® Linda Cottar. Linda, 71, died on May 10 at her home in Baytown, Texas after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Linda was born August 20, 1945, in Corsicana, Texas. She received her associate degree from Lee College. She was a REALTOR® and broker in the Baytown area for over 40 years and an executive officer with HAR, serving on the 2017 Board of Directors. Linda taught Sunday school for more than 25 years at Cedar Bayou Baptist Church and was a member of First Baptist Church Pasadena and the Baytown Pilot Club.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Arvine and Anita Matthews. She is survived by her husband of over 51 years, Tom Cottar of Baytown; sons and daughters-in-law, Tom IV and Heather Cottar of Pflugerville and Shae and Jess Cottar of Baytown; grandchildren, Aidan, Darien, Olivia, Dylan, Evan, and Makayla; and numerous friends.
A graveside service was held on May 13 at the New Pursley Cemetery in Purdon, Texas in Navarro County.
