Gloria Jean Paulk Wilkins, 78, passed away on Tuesday June 29, 2010. Gloria was born on June 5, 1932 in Enid, Oklahoma to Jason C. Paulk and Launa Tribble Davison. She was married to Ronald D. Wilkins. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; her daughter Susan Newell; and her parents. She is survived by three children, 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Gloria lived life to the fullest. Growing up in Enid, Oklahoma, she was a resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Kansas City, Kansas; Norman, Oklahoma; Bryan, Texas and lived throughout the Houston area, most recently in Sugar Land. She was fortunate to have travelled internationally and was at home wherever she went. Her very successful life included her involvement in real estate, politics, and being a friend to all. Her family was one of her greatest treasures. No one was ever a stranger to Gloria. She never hesitated to help others and always graciously gave of herself.
Gloria’s career as a real estate broker spanned more than 35 years. She was one of the owners of RE/MAX Southwest in the 1990s and had established her own brokerage firm of RG Omega for over a decade. She excelled at solving any challenges that came her way with diplomacy and wisdom. She was currently serving as Compliance Manager for Keller Williams Realty Southwest, where her vast knowledge of the industry provided advice for more than 200 agents on a daily basis. She was an icon.
Among Gloria’s many accomplishments in life, she served the real estate community in many capacities, including being President of the Fort Bend Association of Realtors®. She was the current President of one of the local MUD boards for Riverstone. Her leadership was also valued when she served as Brazos County Chairman of the Republican Party. Gloria was laid to rest alongside her husband in Arlington National Cemetery near Washington, D.C.
