Texas Association of REALTORS® and local associations are offering the Texas Affordable Housing Specialist Certification to Texas REALTORS® throughout the state in 2011. The certification boasts 12 MCE hours, including The Texas REALTOR® TAHS Elective Training, an 8-hour course, as well as the 4-hour United Texas: Housing Initiatives that Work course.
Texas REALTORS® who have earned the title of Texas Affordable Housing Specialist are listed by city on the TexasRealEstate.com website under Affordable Housing. The Texas Affordable Housing Specialist certification equips Texas REALTORS® with the knowledge to help increase sustainable homeownership across Texas. It aims to educate you about state programs available to assist buyers and to provide information to help at-risk homeowners manage their current situation. The more you know about affordable housing programs, the better you can assist your clients in making homeownership a reality. The better your understanding of processes surrounding short sales and foreclosures, the more guidance you can provide on either side of these transactions. Together, the certification will enable REALTORS® to help clients find solutions that will meet their financial needs while best serving their long-term goals.
This course is approved for 4 hours of MCE credit and will go towards the Texas Affordable Housing Specialist Certification.
