The Texas Association of REALTORS® and local associations are offering the Texas Affordable Housing Specialist Certification to Texas REALTORS® throughout the state. The certification boasts 12 MCE hours, including The Texas REALTOR® United Texas a four-hour course; Help for Homebuyers a two-hour course; the four-hour FHA Lending for Workforce Housing; and the two-hour Making Texans Homeowners for Life.
REALTORS® who have earned the title of Texas Affordable Housing Specialist are listed by city on the TexasRealEstate.com Web site under Affordable Housing. The TAHS certification equips REALTORS® with the knowledge to help increase sustainable home ownership across Texas. It aims to educate you about state programs available to assist buyers and to provide information to help at-risk homeowners manage their current situation. The more you know about affordable housing programs, the better you can assist your clients in making home ownership a reality. The better your understanding of processes surrounding short sales and foreclosures, the more guidance you can provide on either side of these transactions. Together, the certification will enable Texas REALTORS® to help clients find solutions that will meet their financial needs while best serving their long-term goals.
