Texas Association of REALTORS® and local associations are offering the Texas Affordable Housing Specialist Certification to Texas REALTORS® throughout the state.
The certification boasts 12 MCE hours, including:
• The Texas REALTOR® United Texas
• Help for Homebuyers (a 2-hour course)
• FHA Lending for Workforce Housing (a 4-hour course)
• Making Texans Homeowners for Life (a 2-hour course)
Texas REALTORS® who have earned the title of Texas Affordable Housing Specialist are listed by city on the TexasRealEstate.com Web site under Affordable Housing. The Texas Affordable Housing Specialist certification equips Texas REALTORS® with the knowledge to help increase sustainable homeownership across Texas. It aims to educate you about state programs available to assist buyers and to provide information to help at-risk homeowners manage their current situation. The more you know about affordable housing programs, the better you can assist your clients in making homeownership a reality. The better your understanding of processes surrounding short sales and foreclosures, the more guidance you can provide on either side of these transactions. Together, the certification will enable Texas REALTORS® to help clients find solutions that will meet their financial needs while best serving their long-term goals.
