HAR shared with its members a variety of safety warnings throughout the holiday season. Last week, we received the following account of a threatening situation facing a member and wanted to share it with you. HAR, in turn, asks that you please share it with your office staff.
“Like many REALTORS®, I advertise with magnetic signs on my car. Recently, while driving on the Southwest Freeway, I received a call from a blocked number. The man said he had been behind me and noticed my rear tire was low. I had just exited the freeway and thanked him for calling. He insisted that he was not busy and if I pulled over he would be happy to help change it. I thanked him and told him I would call AAA. He called again, asking if I had pulled over. He again insisted that he had time to help change the tire and asked where I was. I thanked him again and said it was not necessary. I drove around for a while to make sure I wasn’t being followed then pulled into my bank. There was nothing wrong with my tires.”
HAR urges you to contact the police as soon as possible any time that you believe you are in danger.
