The U.S. Department of Labor considers real estate sales and leasing a hazardous occupation.

It is incumbent upon real estate companies and corporations to acknowledge and to take decisive actions to reduce the risks by implementing safe work practices and procedures. 

2020 NAR Member Safety Report:

  • 67% of agents experienced a situation that made them fear for their personal safety or of their personal info while working
  • 61% of agents have met a new client alone at a secluded property
  • 75% of agents have felt unsafe while hosting an open house alone
