Joan Berger, a Sugar Land REALTOR® with Heritage Texas Properties, has been appointed by Mayor James Thompson to the Sugar Land Planning and Zoning Commission. Berger was appointed on September 17 after a vote of the Sugar Land City Council.
The Planning and Zoning Commission was established in 1981, and its purpose is to make recommendations to City Council concerning the use of land and other planning functions. The Commission promotes orderly development and protects the general welfare and interest of Sugar Land residents.
Berger has been a real estate professional for more than two decades. Berger serves on the HAR Board of Directors, Political Affairs Advisory Group, Governmental Affairs Advisory Group and Fort Bend Political Affairs Advisory Leadership. She is also a TREPAC Trustee.
Joan is an active and participating citizen of the community in which she lives, serves, shows and sells. She has served as a Commissioner for the Sugar Land Zoning Board of Adjustment, and a volunteer with Houston Ground Angels providing ground transportation for medical patients. Her proudest role is that of grandmother of “the best boy,” Oliver.
