Michael Akinwumi

Michael Akinwumi is the Chief Responsible AI Officer at the National Fair Housing Alliance (NFHA) where he is tasked with critical responsibilities, including the development and implementation of Responsible AI policies and guidelines that prioritize fairness, privacy, security, explainability, reliability and non-algorithmic solutions. He provides strategic oversight and leadership, collaborating with senior management to advocate for ethical AI practices in housing and lending, and assess potential risks associated with AI use in housing and lending. Stakeholder engagement and education are part of his portfolio, involving interactions with both internal and external parties to gather input, educate employees, and ensure adherence to Responsible AI principles. Moreover, he represents NFHA in industry discussions, advocating for responsible AI practices and staying current with emerging regulations and ethical frameworks to educate providers of housing and lending AI products and services on the need for compliance and alignment with national and global Responsible AI standards.

Previously, he led governance engineering, recommender systems, and machine learning solutions for various sectors, such as fintech, banking, and insurance. He holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the University of Alberta and has multiple certifications and honors in data analysis and mathematical modeling.

Dr. Akinwumi lives his belief that “only a life lived for others is worth living.”

Kyle Christie is a real estate marketing expert for Entrepreneur.com and the Creative Director of  See Your House Now real estate marketing, Kyle Christie has taken all the editorial and production skills learned in his career as a television journalist and applied them to real estate. The result is a marketing agency that provides clear messaging, imagery, training and promotional content to help real estate professionals stand out in a crowded profession.

Grant Harpold

Grant Harpold, HAR Legal Counsel, has built an exceptional track record representing large corporations, small businesses, and individuals in complex litigation matters. He frequently acquires favorable results for his clients in claims involving a range of fields, including real estate, oilfield services, insurance, business torts, and contract claims. He is also an astute legal strategist, providing advice for transactions, contracts, and service. He regularly assists clients in crafting and reviewing agreements related to the sale of a business, the licensing of data, and in the sale or lease of property.

David Jones

David serves as the Deputy General Counsel for Texas REALTORS®, a role he has dedicated over eight years to with distinction. Currently, he is the Director of the Professional Standards Department and a member of the NAR Professional Standards Committee. Additionally, David acts as the staff liaison to the Texas REALTORS® MLS/Technology Committee and oversees the Legal Hotline. Originally hailing from Los Angeles, David brings a wealth of experience from his extensive career in Corporate and Real Estate law, which he has been practicing since 1997. 

Sally Snook

Sally Snook began her journey with HAR as a Member Outreach and Training Specialist in the Professional Development Department, where she specialized in teaching HAR Technology Tools and Matrix-related classes. Her realization of the innovative potential of these consumer and Real Estate Agent tools inspired her to spread the word about their benefits. Currently, Sally serves as the Technology Marketing Specialist, a role aptly described as the technology “ambassador” to HAR staff and their members. With a fervent passion for helping others, Sally is dedicated to empowering real estate professionals to achieve ongoing success in their businesses.

Edward Zorn

Edward Zorn has be en a real estate attorney for almost 30 years and is the Vice President and General Counsel for the California Regional MLS. He is responsible for all legal aspects from contracting to litigation management. In his role as VP, Ed oversees the Compliance and Licensing departments for CRMLS’ 105,000 brokers and agents. Prior to joining CRMLS, Ed’s law practice focused on Realtor Association, brokerage and developer representation. Ed has also been a real estate broker for over 20 years operating his own independ  ent brokerage firm, and was also the Vice President and General Counsel of a multi-office franchisee within the Realogy family. With a passion for education, Ed has been an Adjunct Professor for California Baptist University, where he helped to create the University’s real estate program. Prior to joining CRMLS Ed also served as a state Director and Ombudsman for the California Associaiton of Realtors, and was an active Realtor member with the Inland Gateway Associaiton of Realtors where he was named the 2012 Realtor of the Year. He is still an active member of the C.A.R. Legal Affairs Forum. Ed currently serves on the NAR MLS Listing Issues and Policy Committee, and is a frequent presenter at Associaiton and MLS industry events.
