Saturday, May 4 was local election day across the Houston area and throughout the State of Texas. HAR had recommended candidates in Conroe, Sugar Land and Pearland. Overall, HAR had five recommended candidates in contested races. Two of those candidates were victorious and three of them will head to runoffs. Here are the individual results for each race.
City of Conroe
- Mayor – Todd Yancey – RESULT: First Place with 47.8%, Advances to Runoff
- City Council Place 1 – Susan Johnson – RESULT: First Place with 46.05%, Advances to Runoff
- City Council Place 2 – Curt Maddux – RESULT: First Place with 47.43%, Advances to Runoff
City of Pearland
- City Council Position 4 – Clint Byrom – RESULT: Won with 53.56%
City of Sugar Land
- City Council District 1 – Suzanne Whatley – RESULT: Won with 64.19%
