Pasadena and Pearland Runoff Election Results
The runoff elections for the cities of Pasadena and Pearland were held on Saturday, June 10.
Turn out in Pasadena was 6,747 votes, which is about 11% of registered voters. Jeff Wagner defeated HAR member and recommended candidate, John “JR” Moon, 56% to 43%. We congratulate Mayor Wagner on his victory and look forward to working with him. Council District A will now be represented by Felipe Villarreal after his victory over Daniel Vela 52% to 48%.
Pearland had 13,507 voters, which represented nearly 20% of all registered voters. Incumbent Mayor Tom Reid prevailed over challenger Quentin Wiltz, 60% to 40%. Council Position No. 7 was won by HAR recommended candidate Woody Owens over Dalia Kasseb 58% to 42%. We congratulate Mayor Reid and Councilman Owens on their victories and look forward to working with them.

The last day to register to vote in the Tuesday, November 7 election is Tuesday, October 10.
The HAR Governmental Affairs Department is active in several local races including The Woodlands Township and Missouri City Council races. Volunteers serving on the Montgomery County Political Affairs Advisory Leadership, chaired by Amanda Fails, and the Fort Bend County Political Affairs Advisory Leadership, chaired by Dionne Randle, will be engaged in candidate interviews, recommendations, and get-out-the-vote efforts for these elections.
Become a Volunteer Deputy Voter Registrar
If you would like to become a Volunteer Deputy Voter Registrar in Harris County and have the authority to register voters, the HAR Governmental Affairs Department will be hosting a training in conjunction with the Harris County Tax Office on Thursday, September 14, at 10 a.m. The program will be held at the HAR Central office, 3693 Southwest Freeway.
