HAR’s central office on the Southwest Freeway resembled a ‘Who’s Who’ of HAR history on the evening of Tuesday, May 9. That’s when HAR past presidents and chairmen, current staff and board members and special guests joined 2017 Chair Cindy Hamann and President & CEO Bob Hale and his wife, Susie, for the dedication of the HAR-TV Greg Hale Studios.
Greg, who passed away last December, founded HAR’s video production facilities in the 1980s, before most businesses and corporations realized the full promotional and educational value of video communication. Over the next three decades, he built the facilities, that later came to be known as HAR-TV, into the envy of real estate boards and associations across the United States.
Past HAR chairmen Robin Mueck and Vicki Fullerton spearheaded the initiative to name the studios in Greg’s honor. Both escorted Bob and Susie to the windows of the HAR-TV edit suite, where a black curtain was ceremoniously pulled back to reveal a new HAR-TV logo, branded as the Greg Hale Studios.
During a speaking program that followed, past HAR leaders, including Shad Bogany, Mark Woodruff and George Stephens, shared poignant stories about Greg, including the unique approach he took to shooting the entertaining and action-packed profile videos that he produced for their respective installation ceremonies. Excerpts of those videos were then shown to attendees, drawing laughter and amazement. Speakers described Greg’s endearing smile, the way he made them feel comfortable on camera, and how passionate he was about his craft as a video producer and director.
