The MetroTex Association of REALTORS® (Dallas) challenged the Houston Association of REALTORS® (HAR) to see which association could have a higher response rate to the recent NAR Call for Action (CFA) which urged the U.S. Senate to pass S. 3083, “The Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act”. This bill makes buying a condo a lot easier by expanding opportunities for homebuyers and streamlining rural housing programs for low-income rental residents.
We are proud to report that Team HAR won this hard-fought challenge! Thank you to our members who responded to the Call for Action. This victory would not have been possible without your support and that of the HAR staff.
HAR had a 14.57% participation rate compared to MetroTex’ 13.15% participation rate. MetroTex’ leadership will have to wear Battle Red Texans jerseys for one full day, September 8, at the Texas REALTORS® Conference in Galveston! Way to go HAR! We thank Senators John Cornyn and Ted Cruz for their support for S. 3083, which is awaiting the President’s signature.
