Every October, TAR hosts the Governmental Affairs and TREPAC Orientation in Austin. This program is a two day session of learning about the latest issues and fundraising guidelines. It is valuable information for both key volunteers and HAR staff. This is also the program where final numbers are announced for the TREPAC fundraising year and awards are given to local boards for their PAC fundraising efforts. The exciting news this year is that HAR won three of the distinguished awards…
1. Most Dollars raised in the state for 2014 with $801,977.
2. Second in Participation for Category 1 (Boards of 5,000 members or more) with 51% participation.
3. TAR TREPAC Chairman’s Special Participation Award in the Large Board Category for our 7% increase in participation.

Participation in TREPAC secures your association’s seat at the political table and participation starts at the local level. That’s why TAR Chairman Dan Hatfield and TREPAC Chairman Christine Seidel issued the Participation Challenge for 2014. Here is HAR TREPAC Director Karen Driscoll accepting the $1000 award from TAR Chairman Dan Hatfield on behalf of Houston as the Large to Mega Board winner. Houston had 51% participation, a 7% increase over 2013. The award will be used during our TREPAC 2015 fundraising activities.
Thank you to each and every one of our investors for your support this fundraising year! 2015 looks to be an exciting legislative year and we look forward to working with everyone again to set all new records.
