Houston Association of Realtors (HAR) President and CEO Bob Hale has been named among the most powerful executives in the real estate brokerage industry, according to the 2023 Swanepoel Power 200 (SP 200), the 10th annual list of top real estate industry leaders and executives released by T3 Sixty.
Hale holds the No. 4 position among the most influential organized real estate leaders. He is No. 30 on the overall SP 200. Since the inception of the SP 200 in 2014, Hale has consistently ranked in the top 40.
In addition to the honor from T3 Sixty, Hale has been named an Inman Power Player. That award recognizes trailblazers, or “power players,” in real estate.
Hale is the respected and charismatic leader of HAR, the nation’s second-largest local Realtor association with more than 50,000 members. He presides over the association and its popular MLS with a market-driven, member-centric focus that has made it a cutting-edge leader and model for other associations and MLSs. Hale has served as HAR president and CEO since 1988.
“We could not be more proud of Bob for receiving these prestigious recognitions for the incredible work he does on behalf of HAR and the real estate industry as a whole,” said 2023 HAR Chair Cathy Treviño.
Among many other achievements, Hale spearheaded development of HAR.com, HAR’s award-winning consumer-facing website, into a household brand throughout the greater Houston market where it is the No. 1 online real estate resource. In 2015, Hale oversaw the website’s expansion into a Texas-wide real estate portal, providing an innovative, exposure-based model for other local associations to emulate.
To generate the SP 200, the T3 Sixty team spends more than 500 hours each year analyzing hundreds of bios, annual reports and transactional and sales volume data. It sends hundreds of requests for additional information, personally verifying announcements, stats and actions that took place over the past year. Team members then spend several days in a room deliberating who, what and why.
“Talented leaders are executives who can continue to right the ship even in untested waters, and the industry’s top-ranked leaders have in the last year proven that they have earned their place at the helm,” said Jack Miller, CEO of T3 Sixty. The complete list of 245 executives, including bios and photos, is available at www.sp200.com.
“It’s appropriate to start the year with the naming of Inman Power Players — the leaders whose ingenuity, strength, conviction and persistence are driving change across our industry,” said Inman CEO Emily Paquette. “These are the best of the best.”
