The Houston Association of REALTORS® is making headlines! Here’s a look at some of the media coverage our organization has received over the past few weeks.
HAR’s MLS Update for April 2010, reporting on a second consecutive month of positive sales volume and appreciated pricing as a result of the federal homebuyer tax credit, generated coverage in late May by the following media outlets:
- Examiner Newspapers
- Houston Business Journal (online and print editions)
- Houston Chronicle (online and print editions as well as Prime Property real estate blog)
- Houston Community Newspapers
- KHOU-TV (11 News)
- KPRC-TV (News 2 Houston)
- KTRK-TV (13 Eyewitness News)
- KUHF (Houston Public Radio)
KTRK-TV (13 Eyewitness News) consumer reporter Jeff Ehling interviewed HAR Chair Margie Dorrance for a May 24 story about precautions against scams targeting REALTORS®. This story involved a scam in which an out-of-town buyer attempted to buy a luxury property using a fake cashier’s check.
Real estate reporter Ralph Bivins cited HAR’s MLS data in a May 24 story on the website CultureMap Houston in which he wrote, “The dark days are over…the Houston residential real estate market is back.”
REALTOR® magazine’s “Speaking of Real Estate” blog reported on June 14 about HAR President and CEO Bob Hale receiving the 2010 IABC/Houston Communication Leadership Award. It begins: “Anyone who’s been involved in the REALTOR® organization for any length of time—either as staff or a volunteer leader—has likely heard about, worked with, or been influenced by Houston Association of REALTORS® President and CEO Bob Hale.” It also includes the congratulatory video that HAR surprised Bob with during the June 3 awards ceremony.
These stories and more are chronicled in the HAR Online Newsroom at www.har.com/newsroom.
