HAR’s MLS Update for September 2010, reporting a third consecutive month of declining sales volume but the highest average and median pricing levels for a September in Houston, generated coverage from mid- to late October in the following media outlets:

HAR’s October 18 launch of the exciting new HAR.com iPhone app generated coverage in the real estate industry news service Inman News on November 4. The story was posted online during the NAR convention in New Orleans. Days earlier, Inman News reported that the HAR.com iPhone app was among the top eight trendiest real estate downloads as tracked by TopAppCharts.com. Houston Chronicle real estate columnist Jude Patronella also spotlighted the app as the top item in his October 31 column.
Houston Chronicle reporter Nancy Sarnoff interviewed HAR Chair Margie Dorrance for a story entitled ‘For Rent,’ new sign of the times? about a jump in leasing contracts as Houston consumers take a wait-and-see approach to home buying. The article was published in the October 27 edition.
HAR Chair Margie Dorrance was also quoted in a story posted on November 8 in the online Houston news service CultureMap about how soon REALTORS® expect to see signs of improvement in the market. “I believe that REALTORS® in Houston do realize that our market has been one of the strongest markets in the country and we continue to be very positive,” she explained.
On October 14, HAR Vice Chairman Danny Frank was a guest on the BlogTalkRadio program Everything Marketing, discussing the wide range of consumer tools available on HAR.com.
