Clareity Consulting Mobile Apps Study & Rating
In a recent study of the leading real estate mobile apps for consumers, HAR.com’s mobile apps scored well. The study was conducted by Clareity Consulting, a real estate information technology consulting firm. The study was done on the “phone” versions of the apps for the iPhone and Android. Both of HAR.com’s apps made the top ten list in each platform. Seventeen basic features and unique functionalities were evaluated during the study, as well as the app’s speed and ease of use.
Android App
How HAR.com Paired Up Against 9 Other Android Apps
Features: 11 of 17
Clareity Grade: A-
Store Rating / votes: 3.5 stars based on 234 ratings
Comments: This app was well constructed and easy to use, but a bit light on data other than the listing information. The reviewers wished there was a better way to view more photos without going to a separate gallery screen. The app provides quick access to recent searches and extensive “share” capability. It also uniquely allows for robust search criteria (i.e. private pool, on or near a golf course).
iPhone App
How HAR.com Paired Up Against 9 Other iPhone Apps
Features: 11 of 17
Clareity Grade: B+
Store Rating / votes: 4.5 stars based on 441 ratings
Comments: The HAR app is full featured and performs well. Two special features include detailed photo captions and links to Google Street views from each listing. Unfortunately, the app crashed a few times – probably because the GPS search assumed that the user would be in the Houston area, and the reviewer was not. Most of the search functionality was GPS based (Nearby Homes) or it required local knowledge (e.g. zip code, subdivision name), so this app isn’t very easy to use for out-of-town buyers. But overall, this is a great app for Houston buyers – and congratulations to HAR for leading the way as a local MLS with a solid custom iPhone app.
How the Apps Compare Among Our Members
We are excited that a large portion of our members are actively using our mobile apps. Over 13,600 members are using the HAR.com iPhone app, and almost 5,000 members are using the HAR.com Android app. We look forward to improving on these apps to help you make your real estate business more profitable!
