It seems like only yesterday that I was sworn in as chairman of the board for HAR. It has been a tremendous year, and I think we can all look back with pride at all of the tools and services that HAR rolled out this past year.
As if our technology department needed more impressive tools than they have already put out, the Real Estate Community is now live on HAR.com. Community members may ask each other questions, and the best answer will be chosen. This is a great way for HAR members to exhibit their expertise. There are all kinds of details about the service that may be read here. (And just wait until the beginning of next year to see all of the amazing new technology tools that will be rolled out. We should all count ourselves as very fortunate to be a member of HAR.)
Each year, the general membership meeting is held in December to vote on various By-Laws changes. This year’s meeting will be held in the HAR board room at HAR Central on December 17, 2012, immediately following the December board of directors meeting. If you are unable to attend the meeting, you may download your proxy form and submit it as instructed on the form.
I also want to congratulate all of the graduates of the 2012 Texas REALTORS® Leadership Program. These 29 members have shown their commitment to the industry and to elevating the standard of service provided to their clients. The applications for 2013 are already available, and I highly encourage you to apply for this incredible program. You may read more about it on here.
You have elected your leaders for the board and executive committee for 2013. Now, you may go to REALTOR® Celebration to witness them being sworn in and to socialize with them and other HAR members. You may read all of the details here, as well as information about how to purchase tickets to attend.
Lastly, I want to thank everyone on the executive committee, board of directors and HAR staff for making this a year I will never forget. No one can do it all by themselves, and it really does take a team to accomplish everything that HAR does. I may have been the face of the Association for the past 12 months, but the work is completed only with the support of all of you. There is still more to be done, as the Association continues to keep its members at the forefront. I know that we are in good hands with Danny Frank at the head of the table, and I look forward to all of the things yet to be.
