On November 1, 34 HAR members became graduates of the Texas REALTORS Leadership Program. In addition to completing a series of intense courses that included Spokesperson training, Business Planning, Leading Across Differences and Law, Legislature and Leadership; the group embarked on a leadership project, partnering with The Mansa Musa Project. Their goal is to foster opportunities to minority youth by providing exposure to life outside of their normal surroundings which will promote positive friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and self-confidence that will assert a sense of hope in the future and in themselves.
This group supported The Mansa Musa Project with the Birdies for Brighter Futures Golf Tournament, raising over $40K. The funds will go towards providing scholarships and assistance to Houston’s inner-city youth that are mentees of the Mansa Musa Project.
Future projects that TRLP will participate in with The Mansa Musa Project are volunteering at the food bank & fundraising at the Be One, Bring One event. Scholarships will be awarded to the winning students at HAR’s H-Town event in 2024.
