Attention Commercial Brokers: TREC now has in place the requirement for all Brokers, Managers, Team Leaders and Designated Brokers of a Business Entity to take the TREC required Broker Responsibility Course. On October 14, HAR will hold a Broker Responsibility Course With Commercial Emphasis at the HAR Central Ofice presented by Marcie Roggow, CCIM, CRB, CRS. HAR has also arranged a Policy and Procedures Manual course for the following day.
While the Broker Responsibility Course material is “prepared by TREC” and mandatory, the emphasis will be geared to the Commercial Broker with commercial examples and cases used. The course will certainly keep your attention as it covers the finer points of managing agents and transactions in the commercial real estate world. Agents may also take this six-hour program to learn what is required of a broker owner.
The six-hour broker-responsibility course may be used to satisfy six of the 15 hours in MCE that must be completed by the license expiration date of each license term to renew a license on active status. The following is a breakdown of the MCE hours that must be completed:
- 6 hour Broker Responsibility Course
- 3 hour Legal Update Course
- 3 hour TREC Ethics Course; and
- 3 hours in an approved MCE course(s)
(Course credit will not be given for attendance at the same course more than once during the term of the current license).
Please contact the HAR Professional Development department at 713.629.1900 ext 370 for more details. You may also register for the class here.
