Following on May’s decline in property sales, June surprised with an uptick in total sales. As we have been trying to communicate for months, inventory is needed—and it seems that more sellers were convinced of that. Months inventory increased but is still far below a balanced market. As sales prices continue to rise, perhaps more homeowners will decide that now is the right time for them to sell. You may read more about the latest market statistics here.
Speaking to so many HAR members during the year, you have even more of an appreciation for how much our members respect and value HAR and the tools and services it provides. If you didn’t already know that to be true, Inman News, arguably the most prominent real estate news outlet, just recognized HAR as the Most Innovative MLS/Real Estate Trade Association in the country. It is just one more reason for you to be proud that you are a member of HAR. You may read more about the honor here.
There is also an important MLS rule change that impacts every listing and agent regarding listing photos. Copyright laws can be complicated, but the new MLS rule is intended to protect you when using a photo that is copyrighted by someone else, usually a photographer or even a previous listing agent. You may read more about the new rule here, and remember to always have permission before using a copyrighted photo.

Each year, the Nancy Owens Memorial Foundation hosts a fundraising luncheon in honor of HAR member Nancy Owens who bravely fought a battle with cancer during a 20-year period. Since its inception the year following her passing, NOMF has raised more than $1.2 million in support of research to fight breast cancer. The luncheon always has great speakers, with this year’s speakers being Giuliana and Bill Rancic. Giuliana is a breast cancer survivor and philanthropist when not hosting E! News, appearing on Fashion Police or their reality show Giuliana and Bill. Bill also went to work for The Trump Organization after being “hired” by Donald Trump on the first season of The Apprentice. Find out how to purchase your tickets to this year’s luncheon here.
Until next month,
