If you’d like to help shape the association and our industry as a whole, this is your chance! The deadline is approaching to apply for one of the HAR advisory group or area networking groups. You may see a complete list of all of the opportunities here. These groups are where the rubber meets the road. Everything HAR does goes through one of these groups made up of REALTOR® members, so you have a real impact.
While every localized part of the market is different, the overall greater Houston region saw strong sales numbers in September. Total property sales were up 9.5 percent, and the average single-family home sales price was up 1.5 percent. Pending sales were also up 18.9 percent, which bodes well for October numbers. You may read all of the statistics here. Interestingly, homes that sold for $149,999 or less and those that sold for $750,000 or greater saw declines in sales.
Yes, it’s that time again. No, not time for holidays. Time to pay your 2020 annual HAR dues. The dues are due by December 1, 2019 and may be paid online. You may read more about how to make sure you have paid on time here. You’ll also notice on that page a reminder to watch our weekly Facebook Live show and listen to our weekly HAR on the Move podcast. These are some of the most informative things we put out to make sure you are up on all of the latest happening around Houston and in real estate.
If you’ve ever wondered where people are moving from when they come to Texas, you will want to read here, which has key takeaways from the Texas International Homebuyers Report. Texas has the third highest rate of international homebuyers, after Florida and California. The strength of the Texas economy and business-friendly environment make our state an attractive destination for international homebuyers.
As you can see from the cover of this month’s magazine, we had a stellar group of recipients of the 20 Under 40 Rising Stars in Real Estate awards. There were a record-breaking number of nominees, and you may read their profiles here to see why these are some inspiring members. There are also great pictures from the awards event, which featured Leigh Brown as the keynote. She spoke about the importance of REALTORS® in the community and provided motivation for those in the room.
You know we have HAR.com, which displays more than 220,000 Texas residential properties for sale or lease, but did you know we also have a public-facing commercial website? CommGate.com has a Public Search tab on the site that provides limited information about land, retail, office and industrial properties that are available. If a consumer is interested in one of the commercial properties, the listing broker’s name and contact information is provided. You can see more about this convenient tool on here.
Until Next Month,
