Sponsored by the Institute for Regional Forecasting at the University of Houston, the Fall Real Estate Forecast Symposium is scheduled for Tuesday, November 8, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 1200 Louisiana, in downtown Houston.
A popular event for many real estate professionals, this year’s luncheon features Ted C. Jones, Ph.D, Senior Vice President and Chief Economist for Stewart Title. His presentation, “Houston – The Teflon® Economy and Real Estate Markets: A Few Scratches, But the Bad Stuff is Not Sticking and We Keep on Cooking,” compares and contrasts Teflon, a non-stick coating from DuPont™, to the Houston economy and real estate markets.
As the name implies, the symposium takes a look at the past, current and future of the area’s economy by considering the challenges in the foreseeable future. Issues to be discussed include oil and gas prices, housing, commercial markets, the deficit and interest rates, and others.
ICSC — And let’s not forget the International Council of Shopping Center’s (ICSC) 2011 Texas Conference and Deal Making conference and exhibit scheduled for Nov. 2-4 in San Antonio. While there, be sure to visit Commercial Gateway’s booth and learn more about retail opportunities in the Lone Star State.
