HAR’s Q2 2023 Housing & Rental Affordability Report, which concluded that 39 percent of Houston-area households could afford to buy a median-priced home, received coverage in Community Impact Newspaper, Houston Business Journal and The Real Deal during the week of August 14.

HAR was cited in an August 18 Atlanta Agent Magazine story as being one of the few MLSs in the country unaffected by the cyberhacking of real estate software provider Rapattoni in early August. “HAR was fortunately unaffected by the Rapattoni data breach because we have never used that service for the Houston MLS,” we explained in a statement, adding that our member data is secured in local servers.

Houston Chronicle real estate reporter Marissa Luck and The Real Deal cited HAR MLS data in August 18 stories about how more homes are selling for $10M and above in Houston than ever before.

Houston Business Journal data reporter Wyatt Loy published a story based on HAR’s July 2023 Most Expensive Homes Sold in Houston report.

HAR Chair Cathy Treviño appeared in not one but two NPR real estate stories that provided a Houston perspective on some of the national trends that have slowed the market – namely rising interest rates and home prices. The stories, by business correspondent Scott Horsley, aired on August 22 and 25.

Citing HAR’s Most Expensive Homes Listed in Texas in August report, The Dallas Morning News reported on September 4 that an $18.5M Highland Park home was the priciest new statewide listing in August.
