HAR’s Area Networking Meetings are a great way for HAR members to network, get involved in their community, and hear from dynamic speakers all in one place. With nine different Area Networking Meetings across the greater Houston area, from League City to Montgomery County, there is something for everyone. Each spring, two of HAR’s Area Networking Meetings put on a special event rather than host their typical meeting.
On April 26, the Fort Bend Area Networking Group hosted its annual spring-themed local update. This year, the guest speaker was none other than Sugar Land Mayor Joe Zimmerman. He discussed new developments in Sugar Land and answered lots of questions from the audience. After Mayor Zimmerman’s presentation, there was a hat contest and a tie contest between those who attended. Also, there was both a silent and live TREPAC Auction that featured several great items, and former Fort Bend County Commissioner James Patterson acted as the auctioneer. This event could not have been possible without the hard work of the HAR Fort Bend Networking Committee and the HAR Fort Bend PAAL Committee.
The HAR 290 Area Networking Group held its annual Kentucky Derby themed event on May 10 at the group’s typical meeting location, Dragonfly Event Center in Bridgeland. This event was held in the evening and featured networking, light bites, a derby hat contest, a TREPAC silent auction, and even horse racing. HAR 290 Chair Tiffany Markovsky-Martinez did a fantastic job emceeing the event, which is always loads of fun! If you missed it this year, this event is held each year around the same time as the Kentucky Derby, so mark your calendars for 2024.
