With the local November elections less than two months away and the 2021 primary elections on the horizon, now is the time to register to vote.
Anytime someone changes their residence, even if it is within the same county, they will need to either register to vote or update their current voting information. It is important to let your clients know how to register to vote, especially those moving from outside of the Houston area. Doing this will help your clients avoid showing up to the polls to vote without being properly registered. The deadline to register to vote in the November 2, 2021 election is October 4.
September 28 is National Voter Registration Day! According to the official National Voter Registration Day website, the holiday was first celebrated in 2012 and since then almost 4.5 million Americans have registered to vote on the day. This year, HAR has registered as a partner for National Voter Registration Day, so be sure to stay tuned to our social media for information on local activities. For more information on the holiday visit https://nationalvoterregistrationday.org/.
How to Register to Vote
In Texas, we do not have online voter registration so anyone looking to register to vote will need to fill out a voter registration application and mail it to your county clerk or elections administrator.
