The HAR Global program was recently recognized by the National Association of REALTORS® as a Diamond Global Business Council for the third consecutive time. Congratulations to all HAR Global Advisory Group members, past and present!

This year’s HAR Global program will be led by Elyssin Corona, a recent “20 under 40” HAR YPN recipient. Elyssin has been involved in international real estate since the start of her real estate career and she is an experienced global REALTOR®.

HAR’s Global program exists to assist members in their international real estate business. Whether you are working with a client moving to Texas or finding a Houstonian a second home in Belize, the HAR Global program can help you get started and stay updated on the latest U.S. laws and trends that affect international real estate.

With the creation of the Global Business Network in 2021, more than 8,000 HAR members that speak another language or specialize in another culture receive the Global Newsletter on a quarterly basis. If you would like to be added to the network, enter into your member record if you speak another language and/or specialize in another culture and you will automatically become a member of the Global Business Network. It is free and easy to do.

The Global Business Hotline is held every quarter to help members with their questions about international real estate. Held online via Zoom, it is a free and convenient way to get your global questions answered.

Area 82 of the HAR MLS, where global properties were housed, is currently being replaced with a Global Information Exchange, or GIE for short. The GIE is where HAR members can input international listings by using either an exclusive listing agreement or a co-broker marketing agreement. The GIE is not part of the MLS, has a subscriber agreement and its own set of rules that must be followed. The GIE is currently free to all HAR MLS subscribers.

The annual Global Day of education is scheduled for May. ThCertified International Property Specialist (CIPS) designation will be offered in late September and several other programs are currently in the works for 2023 including the annual member global survey. At right are some findings from the 2022 Global Survey that illustrate the majority of global clients in the Houston area are inbound from other countries.
