Diversity in Real Estate: Culture makes a difference
Dates: May 6, Aug. 25, Nov. 18
This course is designed to give an overview of the different motivators and societal norms within differing cultures found in the housing market. The course provides agents with knowledge to better understand and work with different cultural groups without causing offense. The class covers differing sales techniques that lead toward success and outlines cultural taboos to avoid, while encouraging agents to embrace diversity in their real estate practice. Participants will learn about the people who make up the local market, their values, customs, and real estate needs, as well as their expectations of real estate professionals.
This is a free, two-hour course from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.*

At Home with Diversity Certification
Dates: March 25, June 10, Sept 16, Dec. 1
The At Home With Diversity® curriculum encompasses topics of diversity, equity, inclusion, fair housing, and risk reduction. Participants will gain practical skills and tools to expand business and effectively serve all clients.
Course Goals
Develop an increased awareness of cultural and personal biases that may inhibit you from fully embracing diversity and creating a successful multicultural real estate business.
Learn inclusive, multi-cultural marketing and advertising strategies to broaden your client base.
Formulate an inclusive business plan to help you create an enduring business that is able to adapt and evolve to an ever- changing marketplace.
NOTE: This course serves as an elective course for the CIPS designation.
There will be a 30-minute lunch from 12:30-1 p.m.
Cost: $75.00
8 hours of continuing education credit.
Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) Institute
HAR will be offering the CIPS Institute in October.
Dates: October 18-22
HAR is part of the Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) Network which is the specialty membership group for the international practitioners of the National Association of REALTORS®. HAR provides the educational track that will enable REALTORS® to obtain their CIPS designation.
The CIPS network is comprised of real estate practitioners who work within various types of real estate and focus on the “global” market. CIPS designees pursue international business abroad, assist foreign investors, help local buyers to invest abroad, and/or serve as an immigrant niche in their local market. Look for the REALTOR® with the “CIPS” after their name because they are the Certified International Property Specialists of our industry.
(C I P S) Institute. This is a five-day, 40-hour, immersive course into the world of global real estate practices. Includes study of various cultures, currency and exchange rate issues, tax issues, and how to work with both inbound and outbound real estate clientele. Approved for 40 hours of continuing education credits.
